Target audience

You work mostly at management level or you are a senior professional involved in regular negotiations. You deal with various, many times complex conflicts of interest, and want to improve your negotiating effectiveness. You have to face negotiation challenges like keeping a good relationship and getting the results needed. You want to develop yourself in playing the negotiation game. 

Virtual classes or classes on location: you make the choice

Our main goal is that you continue your development by attending trainings, in a way that suits you best. As of June 1, you can opt to enroll in a training on location. We will make sure the training environment is safe, taking into account the rules that are set out by our government regarding hygiene and safety. If you prefer to train virtually, we cater to this wish as well. In our Virtual Classroom you will meet your trainer and co-participants. We have made one alteration: a training that is originally planned in one day, will be divided into two sessions of 4 hours each. This way you will not spend a whole day behind your computer and it will ensure you stay fit and alert. After your final registration in our systems, the extra session of 4 hours will be planned by the trainer, in consultation with you and the other participants in your group.

We guarantee you will get the same quality and results from a virtual training, as you would have obtained by training on location. Content of Negotiation skills (also online)

This course offers a stepping stone for managers and those involved in regular, professional negotiations. To refresh your knowledge and skills, to practice with the challenges you face, and to reflect on your way of playing the negotiation game. You get the opportunity to achieve a better outcome of your negotiation and become a more skilled and effective negotiator.

The following subjects are covered:

  • Learning to prepare for a good negotiation
  • The 4 Harvard Principles of negotiation
  • Get to know the key ingredients of a win-win negotiation
  • Gaining insight into and applying different negotiation styles 
  • How to deal with manipulation, power and with de-escalating conflict 

During this course we accelerate the learning process through interactive homework assignments, presentations, group exercises, coaching, plenary discussions, personal case studies and action planning. By engaging your manager as well you furthermore drive sustainable results.

New Heroes

During this training you get access to the online platform New Heroes. You will get to work actively with some assignments from the New Heroes learning trips. You can also continue to work on your own personal strength, communication and leadership skills on your own initiative. Everything at your own pace, wherever and whenever you want.

Start and end measurement

This course improves your skills. We can guarantee that. How? Before you start your course, you take a scan. This determines your starting level and helps set the right goals. You receive a personal report. That way, you know exactly where you stand, what you want to accomplish, and how to get there. Your trainer helps you to focus and develop, in order to reach your full potential. After your training is done, you take another scan. This end measurement shows how much you’ve grown, and where you can still develop your skills further.

Course days

The total duration of the training course is 6 weeks. The training course consists of an online kick-off and 2 blocks of 1 day. Your time investment is approximately two hours of self study a week: theoretical and practical through the MijnSN learning community.

  • 1 day from 9.30 AM till 5.00 PM
Mentor

Mentor

Real learning starts with the practical application of what you have learned. You will commence several practical assignments within your own organization, selecting a mentor to supervise and stimulate your learning process - before the first meeting. The mentor could be your manager or a (senior) colleague. For more information on the mentor's role please visit www.sn.nl/mentor. After three weeks you will take your experiences in this regard to the next meeting.

On completion of the training course and subject to attendance and active participation, Schouten & Nelissen will award a certificate. Our certificates are highly regarded in the business community.

If a course day is given virtually, the facility costs will be canceled.

Training course 

The training course costs € 995,00 (excluding 21% VAT). 

Do you follow the course privately or via a VAT-exempt organization (for example the government, healthcare or financial institution)? We offer you the possibility to pay no VAT over the course that you would like to register for and also over those items that are inextricably connected to this specific course. If you chose for the VAT-exempt option, the investment in your course will be € 1094,50. This option can be selected on the registration form found online, or you can indicate this during your personal registration over the telephone.

Course material

During the course, study material will be used. Additional costs of € 76,10 (excluding VAT) will be charged.

The package also contains specific material used in this training course, such as: hand-outs, personal license for the learning community and online tests/scans. You will receive 6 months of access to the New Heroes online platform. If you are already in possession of the above literature or for any other reason do not want us to supply the literature, please indicate this in the comments field on the online registration form or during your telephone registration.

Catering and facility costs

Facility costs, coffee/tea and an extensive buffet lunch costs € 140,00 (excluding VAT). If a course day is given virtually, the facility costs will be canceled.

Payment

You will receive an invoice upon receipt of your enrollment form. Please insure payment is settled within 30 days or before start of the training, at the latest.
