Program in How to be assertive
The key to assertive communication is to learn by doing. The various exercises in this training teach you to set your boundaries, give effective feedback and deal with tension and self-defeating thoughts. You’ll learn to see difficult situations from a new perspective. This increases your personal effectiveness and makes you more visible within your organisation.

- Giving and receiving feedback
- Making and declining requests
- Setting boundaries
The online assignments prepare you for the in-person training sessions. During the sessions, you will practise the techniques and learn to apply them to your real-life work situation.

You have a secondary vocational or university-level education and are looking for basic knowledge and skills to boost your assertiveness. You find it difficult to stand up to dominant behaviour. You know that you have more to offer than what you currently bring to the table, and you want to tap into your potential in your work life.

The price of this course is € 1.445,00 (excl. 21% VAT).
Do you pay the invoice yourself? Then you automatically get a beneficial advantage. Instead of a 21% VAT charge, you only receive a 10% fee. Your course price will then be € 1.589,50.

Program
What does the training look like?
Your learning trajectory consists of a balanced mix of learning activities that you do during the two meetings, in the online learning environment, at work and at home. On the online learning environment you will find assignments that will help you before, during and after the program to increase your knowledge and skills and to apply them in practice.

Duration: 6 weeks
Meetings: 2 days
Time investment for self-study: approx. 2 hours per week

Participants
The maximum group size for the training course is 12 participants.
Mentor
Real learning starts with the practical application of what you have learned. You will commence several practical assignments within your own organization, selecting a mentor to supervise and stimulate your learning process - before the first meeting. The mentor could be your manager or a (senior) colleague. For more information on the mentor's role please visit www.sn.nl/mentor. After three weeks you will take your experiences in this regard to the next meeting.
Certificate
On completion of the training course and subject to attendance and active participation, Schouten & Nelissen will award a certificate. Our certificates are highly regarded in the business community.
